The Optimizer

Introduction

The Optimizer helps achieve even greater performance from your computer by setting MemoryBoost (and parts of your system) to work best with the programs you use on your computer. One of the greatest reasons that there is so much potential for performance improvement in Windows is that Windows is originally configured to work reasonably with all possible uses, not very well with one particular use. Since you use your computer in generally the same role, Windows can often be reconfigured to work better. Similarly, MemoryBoost is originally configured in the way with think best for the greatest number of people. The Optimizer helps tune MemoryBoost and Windows to your needs.

The Optimizer window is shown above. You can open this window by choosing "Optimize system" from the MemoryBoost menu.

Choose a role

We have chosen a number of possible roles that your computer may play. To optimize your system, you need to go through the Optimizer's questions and answer them to the best of your ability. Use the "Next" button to proceed through the various screens; you can use the "Back" button if you want to change one of your responses. The Optimizer will give you instructions at each step.

Undoing the changes

You may decide later that you don't like the changes made by the Optimizer. You can always go back into the Optimizer window and click the "Undo" button. This will reinstate your original system settings (not just the most recent optimized ones).
